Day Two

This morning I was hoping to get up and go for a morning run before the events started although due to the fact that I had some sleeping issues from 3am - 6am i decided to get the extra hour or so. Yas and i got up and did the morning rounds, knocked on all the doors to wake everyone up although we were presently surprised to find out that everyone was wide awake. After finally finishing getting ready we headed downstairs to find a wonderful breakfast. then headed to the Train station on our mission to find the EU Commission of Ministers, Dr. Brooks still no where in sight.

Eventually we made it to our destination and sat through our first lecture. After the lecture we took the metro to Grande Centrale station and walked to La Grande Place for lunch. Wandering down tiny winding roads filled with restaurants upon restaurants we were finally approached by an old man who told us to follow him for the "best restaurant", in what we realized was a suit that didnt match, a pseudo briefcase and a yellow news paper, after he said that he worked at the stock exchange, which was 100 m away, and that he did not know what or where Canada was we ditched really quickly and sat at the closet restaurant and ordered whatever was easiest to read on the menu.

after lunch we walked to the US Mission to the European Union where we were met by Dr. Brooks in the park across from the building. I am not proud to say it, but by this meeting I hadnt had a coffee in the afternoon and was falling asleep. it was fairly interesting although also long. by this time it was about 330 and we headed back to Leuven for some coffee and shopping before our final meeting of the day at 7pm in the Irish College. I managed to buy a pair of black shorts from H&M, which i later found out do not fit at all, as well as some shampoo, soy milk, and apple, and gummy cola's. I got back to the room and chilled with the girls for a bit before we made our way downstairs to the VERY long and VERY boring night session, the speaker went on for about 20 minutes past her time and by this time it was about 845-850pm, past dinner time for all of us. Dr. Brooks then took us on an adventure to a restaurant in a part of town that we were unaware existed and we met up with his "host family", Margerite, the woman of the house, such a delight, bought us all a round to go with dinner and Dr.Brooks/ our tuition bought dinner. It was quite an interesting dinner conversation where I may have accidentally played the dumb blonde a little too much, also, changing my name to Ryan, I blame it on the speaker, my empty stomach and Margerite's beer.

Upon laughing off all the calories we ate at dinner with the conversation that went along with it we wandered through the olte markit, to find out our beer pong tournament occurring on Wednesday was over for the season, although did find some fairly bumpin bars for later this week... we got back to the College and said goodnight to the boys so that we could have some quality Girl talk and share our stories...

As for now they have just finished, and quite the stories we had, none that are anywhere near appropriate for the internet though. I am heading to bed because tomorrow morning its a 6am wake up call for me and a run to and from the train station, followed by a shower, all in time for the wake up calls and our very busy day once again.

Day 2 down, 19? to go?
